How popular culture has changed my life

I feel that popular culture has shaped my life. I was home schooled from sixth grade all through high school and was raised in a nondenominational church. God, my family, and the Church have played a major role in the development of the person I am today.
Popular culture has influenced my every decision. My relationship with God has helped me choose friends wisely, choose appropriate clothing, choose wholesome music. I have been shaped, not only through God's word, but also through the Church. I follow the Church and the example of their lives. They are all such wonderful people and they strive to be better Christians. They have all made mistakes in their lives but they use those mistakes to help others overcome obstacles in their lives.

After reading "What is 'Popular Culture' ?", I can better understand it's definition. When I think of "Popular Culture" I would guess that it means whatever this generation may think is "cool." This paper does mention what today's generation has made "popular" through mass media products, but it is not the only definition. The definition of popular culture in my life is religion.
If I did not have God or the Church in my life I wouldn't be the person I am today. I'm very thankful for everything I have and for the influence popular culture has had on my life.

Its nice to see that you have a different view on pop culture. Sure its whatever the new generation sees as "cool" but the whole generation can't just agree. Everyone is different and follows different things.

I do agree with you God has a huge affect on most of us.What people think is cool now is totaly dicusting. Being able to rely on your faith is wonderful. You don't let people influence you on what you do, how you do it , or when you do it. You choose what's best for you.Way to go.

I admire your choices that you made with the help of God. My family is the same way when it comes to asking God to help guide ourselves throughout the day. God has a huge influence in my life on a daily basis because my faith is what keeps to strive further in life.
