I would like my topic to be about the negative and positive influences of the internet/ web-based technologies on businesses. I plan to open my own business some day so I think that this would be a good topic for me to research. I want to learn ways to spread the word about my business through the internet and I would like to know things I might need to be aware of after starting my business. I hope this topic will help myself and others, who may be interested in opening their own business, use the internet in a way that will benefit their business.
POSITIVES
-Make a website for my business.
-How to use the computer advertise my business
-How to use the computer to help customers(Refer to other websites)
NEGATIVES
-How the computer could hurt my business(Not sure how, but that is where a lot more research is going to be spent)

I think this is a great topic, and there is much you can do with it.
A possible negative in regards to technology and business is that technology isn't always reliable. Look at the days in class when we were severely hampered by technology not working! I know a few times I've been shopping and my debit card wouldn't work because the communication lines were down, and I didn't have cash, so the store didn't get my business.
